Today the children were asked to write a review on a book they have read using appropriate levelled connectives.
As we come to the end of our Year 5 journey, we have decided to look back at our time and reflect on it in a positive way. But rather than just writing long, boring paragraphs, we have decided to write our reflections in the form of poems…
We hope you enjoy them!
Year 5
Year 5 has been a journey that I’ll never forget,
Even though it was hard when getting out of bed.
Sapphire was their name and they played a spiffing game,
They achieved lots of goals because winning was their aim.
There were hard times there were good times
There were silly times as well,
But the most amazing times were when we’d all get on so well.
Year 5 was not a breeze but we did it with ease,
Learning hard, singing hard whilst Mr Reid eats peas.
Crazy teachers, crazy children, crazy TA too,
We’re gonna leave this year with nobody feeling blue.
It’s the end of this poem so let me say to you,
It’s been my pleasure and my privilege
to get to know you.

Today, Sapphire Class have embarked on their most ambitious project yet…
…Mr Reid is probably hiding his head in his hands at the thought of this!
I was thinking to my self and I was thinking, “Hmm… There have been all of these great thoughts of the week, and out of them there have been some amazing discussions, both in and out of the classroom”. So with this in mind I tried to think what it would be like if some of our thoughts of the week were bought to life…
Now, I don’t want to give too much away because Sapphire Class would be most upset with me. But needless to say that when this special project is finished we shall all be in for a VISUAL treat for the eyes! To whet your appetite I am going to give you a little preview of what you can expect to see in the not so distant future…
Enjoy…
Dog in the Playground,
Suddenly there,
Smile on his face,
Tail in the air.
Dog in the playground,
Bit of a fuss,
I know that dog –
Lives next to us!
Dog in the Playground,
Oh, no he don’t.
He’ll come with me,
You see if he won’t.
The word gets round;
The crowd gets bigger.
His name’s Bob.
It ain’t – it’s Trigger
Dog in the Playground,
We’ll catch him, Miss.
Leave it to us,
Just watch this!
Dog in the Playground
Couldn’t he run?
Dog in the Playground
… Gone.
A group of children in Sapphire Class have made their own podcast about events that have been happening in and around our school.
Have a listen and comment below!
For Red Nose Day we were tasked with making a joke book… So being Sapphire Class we decided to do our own take of a joke book. We came up with the ‘Comic Joke Strip’. Take a look below…
BUT BE AWARE… The jokes are very, very (thats very) funny! Please read with caution. Sapphire class will not be held responsible for any side splitting symptoms from laughing too much.
You were warned…
Proceed with caution…
Actually maybe you should’t read them after all..?
Ok, a promise is a promise is a promise. For your entertainment here are Sapphire Class’s Comic Joke Strip… Enjoy…
Today Sapphire Class shared their thoughts about what Red Nose Day means to them. With the help of some video trickery I have turned it into an inspirational video. I’m so proud of you all!
Enjoy!
Mr Reid joined Ms Papas, Mr P and the year 6 staff on an impromptu visit to the new extension to Heavers Farm. Everyone was excited as the opening date gets closer, and they all began to claim which room they would be taking…even Mr Reid!
